Annual Fund Impact

When you give to the Annual Fund, your gift has an immediate impact on the Kabeyun experience for all campers and staff. Contributions to the Annual Fund are camp’s second largest source of income, following tuition.

Through the Annual Fund, the generosity of our community allows Kabeyun to extend more than $60,000 of tuition assistance each summer, to develop and retain excellent counselors, and to maintain and enhance our facilities and equipment. Here are two places where contributions made an impact in 2025.

In the Kitchen

Kabeyun takes pride in the quality of our food, most of it scratch-made, and our kitchen crew now has better tools for creating it. In 2025, camp installed a new flat top for cooking favorites like grilled cheese, pancakes, and eggs, as well as a bigger fryer and three convection ovens, which replaced three conventional ovens dating from the 1990s. Chef Mark Robbins says, “We will be able to do lots more of our cooking right there, freeing up the ovens in the bakery for just baking breads and desserts. The new flat top is bigger and has a thermostat, which gives us better control over various heat settings.”

In Big Cove

Campers learning to windsurf and the counselors coaching them benefitted from the purchase of a new personal watercraft in 2025. The Sea-Doo GTI replaced an older, less stable jet ski whose engine had become less reliable. Windsurfing counselor Pete Remington likes the Sea-Doo’s better tow points and larger platform for instructing campers. “Having a powerful jet ski as a rescue tool allows campers to stretch their skills,” he says. “We can let them windsurf farther from camp, knowing we can easily zip over if they need help.” Sailing and other waterfront counselors occasionally use the Sea-Doo as a rescue and safety boat as well.
